26th Annual Piedmont Avenue Merchant Association Halloween Celebration – the most “family friendly” in Oakland!!

GOOD NEWS!

The folks at Piedmont Avenue Landmark Theatre have figured out a way to show cartoons AGAIN this year!

Theatre doors will open on Saturday at 9:45am.

After the cartoons, folks should walk down to Rio Vista and Piedmont Avenue for the parade up the Avenue.

Don't forget:

Trick or treating at Candy Station merchants -- look for the signs
Music at Piedmont Plaza, Key Route Plaza, and at the site of the new library -- 80 Echo Avenue

10:15 am Special Storytime at the Library, 160 41st Street, for younger children
11:00 am

PARADE – led by Jim McElroy, bagpiper extraordinaire and students from Head Over Heels -- meet at Rio Vista and Piedmont Avenue. Note: If you wish to have your pet in our special “pet” section make sure you are at the parade site by 10:15am.

11:45 am to 1pm: Trick or Treating at Avenue Candy Station merchants for children 10 years and younger accompanied by an adult

Noon to 3 p.m. Jazz du Jour with Ted Czuk at the Key Route Plaza:

Annual Pumpkin Patch Meadow at Mountain View Cemetery – FREE
5000 Piedmont Avenue – food, drink and all kinds of fun

NOTE: Street will be closed from Rio Vista to Echo from 10:30am to 1pm

 

Primo book sale at the Library – 80 Echo Avenue -- sponsored by the Friends of the Piedmont Avenue Branch Library – plus special music from Salane Schultz, treats, and a chance at the “Halloween Gift from the Avenue” drawing –11am to 2pm

Noon Annual Pet/Owner Costume Contest at Paws on Piedmont, 3974 Piedmont Avenue.
