  • PAMA - Piedmont Avenue Merchant Association is is a non-profit 501(c)6 volunteer-run organization that has been around since 1939. PAMA is made up of local business owners and volunteers from the Piedmont Avenue business district in Oakland, California. PAMA’s focus is on the well-being of all Piedmont Avenue businesses & making neighborhood improvements. Read more on the Join PAMA page to learn more.

  • PANIL - The Piedmont Avenue Neighborhood Improvement League is an association of residents in Oakland founded in 1974 to provide a voice for the neighborhood in matters related to city planning and the character of the area. Check out panil.org for more info.

  • Emergency: 510 - 777 - 3211 (faster, direct to OPD) or 911 (slower, goes through CHP

  • For non-life-threatening issues, use the non-emergency number 510 - 777 - 3333

  • MACRO is a community response program for non-violent, non-emergency 911 calls grounded in empathy, service, and community. They are available 7 days a week, holidays included, from 6:00 am - 8:30 pm. Service requests can be made by MACRO@oaklandca.gov or 510 - 446 - 2276

  • Our walking police officer is Melvin Bermudez and his current shift is Tuesday - Friday 11am - 9pm. He can be reached at: 510 - 882 - 7738. He covers both Piedmont and College Avenues, as well as providing backup support to other areas of Oakland as needed.

  • For active and urgent infrastructure emergencies call 311 or 510 - 615 - 5566

  • PAMA has a Slack channel for Piedmont Ave. businesses to report crime and communicate other neighborhood events/issues. To sign up, contact info@piedmontavenue.org. You must have a business in our district to be a part of the Slack channel.

Make sure to report any crime by making a police report. Let's keep each other in the loop and let police know where they are needed. The police can’t go where they don’t know they are needed. Statistics drive resource allocation from the City.
